The oldest winery in Virginia, Shenandoah Vineyards was founded in 1976 by the Randels and stayed in the family until 2018, when renowned winemaker Micheal Shaps purchased it. As a former consultant to Shenandoah Vineyards, Michael recognized the viticultural potential of the land. The tasting room and winery are housed in a Civil War-era barn on a bucolic farm setting with sweeping views of the Massanutten mountains.
